Common questions

How do I play?

Tap to jump, and hold to jump higher. Land on a letter to add it to your stack. Spell a word reading top to bottom to clear it. Words need three letters or more.

Why did my run end?

A run ends when your stack runs into a letter from the side.

What are Word Hints?

Word Hints suggest words you could spell next. Turn them on in Settings. Words you can finish with the letters already on their way come first, longest first. Gold letters are ones you still need: bright gold means the letter is already in NEXT, dim gold means it hasn't come yet. Hints update when your stack changes or a new letter enters NEXT.

How is my score counted?

1 point for every meter you run and 10 for every letter you stack. A cleared word scores more the longer it is: CAT is worth 90, SPELL is worth 250.

Where is my best score saved?

On your iPhone only. If you delete the app, your best score is deleted with it. If you use Game Center, your scores on its leaderboards stay in your Game Center account.

What is Words Cleared?

A list of every word you've cleared, with ×2, ×3 and so on for words you've cleared more than once. Open it from Settings → Words Cleared. It's kept on your iPhone only and counts from version 1.2.

What does the Tip Jar do?

It's a way to support the game if you enjoy it. Tips are paid through the App Store and unlock nothing; the game is the same with or without them.

Why is the Leaderboards button grey?

You're not signed in to Game Center. Sign in under Settings → Game Center to see leaderboards and earn achievements. You can play without it. Scores from runs you finish offline are sent the next time you're online.
